Our Swiss Army knife is more than meets the eye. In addition to driving digital strategies and churning out stellar designs, the talented and wonderfully surprising Daniel Ziffer brings us comedic relief and a fresh, vibrant perspective. Here’s a peek into what you don’t know about the man behind the screen.

I’ve performed stand-up comedy.

I went through a stand-up comedy stint about six years ago while living in Flagstaff and Tucson, performing at open-mic nights and booking a few shows. My humor is dark, dry and observational. While I no longer perform, I look back on the experience fondly and made some great contacts in the industry.

I was the bad guy in a found footage horror movie.

When I first moved to Tucson, I answered a Craigslist ad looking for actors. Sure, why not?! I was cast as one of the bad guys in the movie. It wasn’t a very good movie, so I’ll spare you the details. And for those of you who don’t know, “found footage” refers to life-like movies shot with a handheld camera. Think Blair Witch.

I performed several voices for a video game.

I voiced several characters in the “full conversion mod” of the Fallout: New Vegas video game, titled Fallout: New California. It was released in two installments, the first released on May 31, 2013, and the second released as a beta on October 23, 2018. Fallout is a post-apocalyptic role-playing video game that is primarily set in Nevada, California, Arizona and Utah. I was the voice behind a main companion character, a stereotypical football jock, as well as several side characters including a radio DJ.

I’m one of the least picky eaters you’ll ever meet.

I like to tell people that I respect food, and I LOVE trying new things. If something is placed in front of me — especially if I don’t pay for it — I will 100% eat it, no questions or complaints. I’m especially drawn to sweets and pizza (and really, who isn’t?).

Cheesecake is my favorite dessert.

So I like sweets…but cheesecake is in a class of its own. I’ve even been making my own cheesecake for the past few years, ranging in complexity from plain to peach and blueberry with a lemon cookie crust.
