Fast Pitch, affectionately known in the Arizona business and philanthropic worlds as “American Idol with a soul,” is a two-month-long training and mentoring program created by Social Venture Partners Arizona. It helps local nonprofit leaders sharpen their social impact and business plans, and trains them to succinctly and powerfully “pitch their passions.”

svpazThe program culminates as a public event March 1, 2016 at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts, where eight finalists take the stage to answer a critical, complex and highly entertaining question: How can you change the world in three minutes?

Aker Ink is among the 2016 competition sponsors.

“Fast Pitch provides nonprofit leaders with critical skills that are essential to increasing brand awareness and ultimately to generating funding,” said Aker Ink President Andrea Aker. “We’re very proud to sponsor an event that shines the spotlight on truly innovative nonprofits – and also shows just how powerful a single pitch can be.”

Social Venture Partners Arizona is a network of philanthropists who take a venture capital approach to funding local nonprofits, leveraging their own dollars, networks and professional skills to support select investees. Andrea serves on the Board of Directors and chairs the Marketing & Communications Committee.
