Aker Ink is proud to sponsor Social Venture Partners Arizona (SVPAZ)’s Fast Pitch program for the second year. Fast Pitch is our opportunity to connect #beyondphilanthrophy with nonprofits in our community.
Fast Pitch is a community program that engages Valley nonprofit leaders, students and social entrepreneurs who are creating real and lasting impact in Maricopa County. The program trains leaders to powerfully communicate their story, and connects them with influential business and community leaders, who can help them achieve their goals.
These organizations are selected to participate based on their innovative approaches to creating social change and their potential for significant positive community impact. For two months, they receive training and mentoring from volunteer business professionals on how to succinctly and powerfully tell their story.
The program culminates in a “Fast Pitch” competition – a high energy, rapid-fire presentation event during which nine finalists share the mission, vision and impact of their organization with the audience and judges – in just three minutes, and nonprofits compete for more than $50,000 in funding.
“Fast Pitch provides nonprofit leaders with critical skills that are essential to increasing brand awareness and ultimately to generating funding,” said Aker Ink President Andrea Aker, who also serves on the Board of Directors for SVPAZ. “We’re very proud to sponsor an event that shines the spotlight on truly innovative nonprofits – and also shows just how powerful a single pitch can be.”
SVPAZ brought this showcase to Arizona after realizing that many innovative nonprofit organizations have used limited resources in creative and effective ways to deliver breakthrough social impact. Since its inception, it has become the premier nonprofit pitch competition in the Valley.
Past winners include start-up organizations and well-established organizations, such as: ONe TRUe LOVe, Be a Leader Foundation, Spot 127, Go Purple, Tigermountain Foundation, Feeding Matters, New Way Academy, Neighbors Who Care, Angels on Patrol, St. Joseph the Worker, and One N Ten.
