Aker Ink President Andrea Aker has been elected to the Board of Directors for the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in North Scottsdale, which is one of the largest urban preserves in America encompassing more than 30,000 acres of desert land and nearly 200 miles of trails.

Andrea will lend marketing, PR and communications expertise and strategic eye to the organization, providing insight on how it can improve brand awareness, spotlight the value of some 600 volunteer stewards and promote a variety of educational programs. She joins a team of diverse individuals whom share a passion for protecting Arizona’s beautiful, wild lands for future generations.

The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy aims to champion the sustainability of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve through education, research, advocacy, community partnerships and more. A Scottsdale resident and outdoor lover, Andrea brings enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the organization.

“The outdoors has always been an important part of my life, and I have spent countless hours on the trails in the Preserve,” said Andrea. “I’m excited to share my expertise and educate the public about how we can protect our desert landscape for years to come.”

Highly active in the community, Andrea has previously served on the Board of Directors Social Venture Partners of Arizona, Scottsdale Leadership and the Phoenix Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
