Deepening her longstanding connection to Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Aker Ink CEO Andrea Aker has been appointed to the school’s Endowment Board of Trustees. The appointment reflects her ongoing support of the school and broader commitment to mentoring the next generation of communicators.

As a trustee, Andrea will contribute her professional expertise and philanthropic support to help advance the Cronkite School’s students, programs and priorities. She will also serve on the Academic Experience Committee, working with school leadership to support curriculum objectives and standards, advise on curriculum updates and help evaluate student work.

“Joining the Endowment Board is incredibly special to me,” Andrea said. “The Cronkite School played an important role in my education and career, and I’m proud to have the opportunity to contribute more directly to its future and support the next generation of communicators.”

Andrea earned her Master of Mass Communication from the Cronkite School in 2008 and her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Arizona in 2004.

Andrea’s involvement with Cronkite has grown over time. She established the Aker Ink Scholarship in 2017 and an endowment in 2023 supporting writing, critical thinking and judgment, skills she considers fundamental to long-term professional success.
