Tariff whiplash has understandably put marketers on edge — but there’s a veil of opportunity for those who are creative and motivated enough to uncover it.

In its latest cover story capturing insights from local leaders on several core facets of running a company, InBusiness Phoenix tapped Aker Ink CEO Andrea Aker for practical perspective on navigating marketing tactics through economic ebbs and flows.

As competitors pull back or pause marketing and advertising efforts, she explained, it opens new doors for businesses to capture their market share — doors that might otherwise remain shut if economic conditions were more favorable.

In this climate, she encouraged organizations to reevaluate digital advertising and brand messaging, double down on customer retention initiatives and invest in thought leadership, among other strategies. The key, however, is pivoting processes without losing sight of business goals.

“The most effective leaders are adaptable,” Andrea wrote. “Shifting marketing and advertising efforts…can help organizations gain the momentum they need to stay visible and connect with their audiences in new ways.”
