Take Charge America is a national nonprofit credit counseling and debt management agency. We have helped the organization solidify its position as an industry leader and educate tens of millions of Americans on key financial topics for the better part of two decades. How do we do it?

  • Oversee a far-reaching media relations strategy resulting in consistent coverage at the local, national and trade levels, including outlets such as U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, The New York Times, Fox News, USA Today and Washington Post.   • Oversee, strategize and guide the most recent website overhaul, including repositioning key services and modernizing the entire user experience.
  • Serve as a key content and positioning player with numerous special projects including website revamps, new service launches and online portal launches. With a deep understanding of the customer journey and user experience, we offer guidance on flow, design, messaging, outreach and promotion.
  • Strategize and execute Facebook advertising campaigns, driving hundreds of targeted consumers to counseling services monthly with concepts that exceed industry averages 10x. This work was even honored by the Public Relations Society of America for a top Digital/Social Campaign.
  • Assist with the development of a wide range of marketing communications including brochures, annual reports, business development presentations, case studies and much more.

Under the trusted name of the nation’s largest corporation, Walmart Health provides end-to-end healthcare services to businesses, brokers and millions of consumers nationwide — from primary, urgent and behavioral telehealth to in-store clinics, pharmacies and omnichannel solutions.

Aker Ink is a trusted partner for executing a vast range of content marketing initiatives and strategic marketing communications, expertly blending education, marketing and sales goals. However, the story doesn’t start here. It begins in 2017 when we were tapped for comprehensive PR and marketing communications services for telehealth provider MeMD.

Founded in 2010, MeMD was already ahead of the curve in telehealth innovation. We helped the company reinforce industry thought leadership and expand its presence onto a national stage. Key focuses included:

  • Bringing consistency and clarity to a wide range of marketing communications while highlighting the company’s capabilities and competitive differentiators, helping the sales team reach more brokers and businesses to generate leads.
  • Driving a sophisticated content marketing strategy involving in-depth blogs, case studies and whitepapers that specifically touches a range of client pain points.
  • Introducing new products and services using PR channels, resulting in highly targeted coverage in outlets such as BenefitsPro, Employee Benefits News, MobiHealthNews and Insurance Business.

When COVID-19 rocked the world in 2020, Aker Ink drove PR efforts as MeMD launched six new service lines nationwide in six months amid a 300% surge in visits. The telehealth provider gained hundreds of thousands of new members during this time.

Our efforts helped put MeMD on Walmart Health’s radar as the corporation sought expansion into virtual care. Ultimately, Walmart Health acquired MeMD in 2021. Years later, we continue to serve as a trusted marketing partner. Here’s a look at how we’ve helped since:

Axis for Autism leverages groundbreaking technology and a wide network of psychologists to slash autism evaluation wait times from years to weeks, ensuring Arizona families find much-needed diagnoses and answers sooner.

They came to us with the goal of attracting new patients seeking autism evaluations through a start-from-scratch Google Ad strategy — and modest budget of $17,500 stretched from January to June. With numerous, more established competitors often quadrupling this spend within a single month, quality proved critical for success amid saturation.

And our strategy worked: This campaign made Aker Ink the only agency to bring home a “Mastery” title, or the highest honor at the 2023 AZIMA TIM Awards, in Search Marketing/PPC (Pay-Per-Click).

We spurred an evaluation influx at roughly half the medical industry’s average cost-per-conversion, basing our success on the difficult PPC feat of outperforming enterprises with massive marketing spend.

The Axis target audience comprised less than 3% of AZ families, so reaching millions wasn’t our goal. What really mattered was driving quality leads to form fills, then evaluations — and doing it better than the rest.

Focusing on medium-volume keywords to target bottom-of-funnel searches helped make it happen. And while competitors cast a wide net, we cast a narrow, more impactful one. E.g., one business spending $100,000+ on PPC had 497 paid keywords. Axis vied for 47 strong ones. As a result:

  • We ranked among the top 3 ads on the page 88% of the time
  • We ranked as the 1 ad 30% of the time. Wordstream data reports most healthy search campaigns find an absolute max of 20%.
  • We obtained a cost-per-conversion of just $41. The medical industry average is $78.

As a result, Axis supported hundreds of new patients thanks to our targeted efforts prioritizing quality.

Arizona-based law firm Guidant asked Aker Ink to put the company on the map following a merger resulting in a new trade name. To build awareness among Phoenix-area small and midsized businesses for its new brand, we implemented a multi-faceted communications strategy that resulted in increased site traffic, widespread awareness among key audiences and disproportionately large share of voice in the market’s top business publications. In fact, our efforts earned a Copper Anvil for top Integrated Communications at the annual awards program for the Public Relations Society of America, Phoenix chapter.

  • Created a modern, memorable logo and strategically established visual brand guidelines.
  • Designed and developed a modern website optimized for search engines that showcases each attorney and practice area.
