Before joining Aker Ink, Ron reported on thousands of stories about local and regional business deals in fast-paced newsrooms in Arizona and New Mexico. Notably, he won a pair of first-place awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for sports enterprise reporting and general reporting on cannabis.
Most recently, Ron worked as a commercial real estate and economic development reporter for the Phoenix Business Journal. He cultivated strong relationships with sources and developed a deep understanding of the market, allowing him to break well-informed news stories consistently.

He has two dogs: GG – a beautiful Golden Retriever/Husky mix; and Oddball – a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd who lives up to the name with his antics around the house.

- Grillmaster: Ron loves to spend his weekends in his backyard, grilling burgers, steak, salmon, chicken and anything else he can find at the grocery store. By experimenting with different spices and seasonings, his houseguests can count on enjoying a full plate when they visit.
- A knack for quoting: When Ron watches a movie, it’s not the big turning point of the film he discusses with his friends afterward. Instead, Ron seeks out the hidden unintentional humor and can often quote lines of dialogue verbatim.
