With a growing roster of clients seeking integrated PR and marketing support, Aker Ink hired Scott Buffon as Account Executive. The award-winning journalist will help position companies in the media, develop compelling content and manage project flow.
“Scott has the right attitude, skill and creativity to thrive in this role,” said Aker Ink Director of PR Valliere Jones. “He has covered many beats in his years as a journalist, providing our wide range of clients with insider newsroom knowledge. His fresh perspective and ideas have resulted in immediate traction.”
Scott reported for several newspapers in California and Arizona. Most recently, he was a senior reporter with the Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff, where he produced articles covering complex federal forest-thinning practices, crime trends, natural disasters, detailed court rulings and trials, protests, new business openings, city council meetings, heart-warming community interest and the pandemic’s impact on healthcare workers. He also reported for Courthouse News, covering northern Arizona civil case filings and Utah’s higher court rulings, often distilling complex multipage documents and rulings into two sentence summaries.
The Arizona Newspaper Association recognized Scott for Best News Story, Best Feature Story and Best Investigative Story in 2019. He also earned third place for Best News Story the year prior.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the transition to Aker Ink,” Scott said. “The team has incredible output, work ethic and a supportive environment. I’m able to use my skills in creative writing, journalism and project management to grow businesses and bring awareness to critical issues. These are exciting challenges I can’t wait to tackle.”
