Each year, the Arizona Interactive Marketing Association’s (AZIMA) TIM Awards recognize Arizona’s top digital marketing professionals for successful campaigns and innovation. Aker Ink was honored among the group, taking home the 2017 TIM Award for best Business Website for its recent revamp of the Aker Ink site.
Aker Ink collaborated with strategic partner Effusion Design to design and program the site, which was launched in February 2017.
“We wanted the site to make a bold, modern statement that is memorable, easy to read and navigate, and pique the interest of prospective clients. It allows our brand, capabilities and expertise to shine,” said Aker Ink President Andrea Aker.
“Pop art” imagery was used to communicate the company’s approach to implementing PR campaigns – which blends traditional and modern communication strategies. This art movement emerged in the 1950s, employing numerous aspects of mass culture, including advertising. The iconic imagery, representing Aker Ink’s “traditional communication” strategies, was formatted in a highly modern, fun and functional manner to reflect Aker Ink’s “digital communication” strategies.
Aker Ink and other honorees were recognized at an awards ceremony at the Phoenix Art Museum on March 30.
Now in its fifth year, the TIM Awards are named after Sir Timothy-Berners-Lee, the father of the World Wide Web. AZIMA is a nonprofit organization that provides education, events, networking, scholarships and award opportunities to interactive marketers in Arizona.
Aker Ink won the 2013 TIM Award for Best Blog for its redesign of Arizona Oddities, a blog covering Arizona history and culture.
