Aker Ink recently hired Katie Brashear as the PR Account Director to lead and execute multi-faceted public relations campaigns that help companies increase brand awareness, enhance thought leadership and generate media coverage for a variety of B2B and B2C clients.

Complementing our longstanding reputation for excellence in service, Katie’s 20+ years of delivering dynamic communications, coupled with her proven track record of securing local, regional, national and international media relations, will be an incredible asset to the agency and its clients. She will lead some of our local and national PR accounts while working closely with CEO Andrea Aker to help guide strategic PR planning, direction and messaging.

Poised for record-breaking growth in 2023, this key new hiring will support our mission to help current and future clients realize their potential and discover what’s possible in the realms of public relations and marketing. Katie brings a wealth of expertise in B2B and B2C public relations initiatives.

Prior to joining Aker Ink, Katie was a Senior Publicist for Pitch Public Relations, a public relations agency focused on securing national media coverage for its clients – many of which were startups and or intersected with some aspect of innovative technology. Before that, she was a Vice President of Public Relations at Allison+Partners, a global communications agency driven by a collaborative approach to innovation and creativity. During her time with Allison+Partners, Katie was considered a media ninja for her tenacity that resulted in top tier and national coverage in outlets like AccuWeather, Bloomberg, Business Insider, Bustle, Cheddar TV, CNBC, Essence, Financial Times, Forbes, Glamour, Health, Inc., Los Angeles Times, PopSugar, The Arizona Republic, TODAY Show, Us Weekly, Wall Street Journal, Well+Good, Yahoo Finance and many more.

Katie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the Walker Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications, with a minor in business. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
